With tapering octagonal sighted barrel inlaid with a brass line at the muzzle between engraved foliage, octagonal breech engraved with differing designs of foliage between three brass lines along the top flats, single iron barrel band lightly engraved with foliage, foliate engraved tang and characteristic lock, wooden three-quarter stock with two iron plates along the fore-end (old split) chiselled with symmetrical designs of foliage, the first plate against a ground of black pigment and centred on a flower-head, pinned iron side-plate pierced and chased en suite, a pierced plate in front of the trigger-guard chased with scrolling foliage, butt of triangular form (toe damaged) set with pierced iron panels decorated en suite and with pierced borders of running foliage on both sides, a tapering tubular comb cut with bands of wrigglework along the top, plain butt-plate, lightly engraved spur trigger-guard, and original slender iron ramrod with notched tip
