A Serapi carpet, the red field decorated with a central medallion surrounded by varying stylised foliate motifs, within polychrome spandrels, the dark blue borders decorated profusely with meandering vines and flowerheads, approximately 349 x 276cm
Condition Report:
Some wear to pile overall. Pale knot heads poke through pile in places. Various small areas of loss to pile - this appears to be from old moth damage. Wear and losses to fringing. This has encroached into the guard stripe slightly at both ends. Both ends have late thread applied to help secure. Longest edges have been neatly re-bound but have some wear and areas of loss.
