A Set of Ten Iron Arrow Tips

**First Time At Auction**

Near East to Europe, ca. 500 CE to 1000 CE. A fine ensemble of ten iron arrow tips ranging in age, culture, shape, and size. One has a flat triangular tip and a tang that is twisted like a screw. Two have sockets at one end, suggesting they would be used for a heavier arrow or crossbow. Another lays flat and fans out towards its tip. One has a high central ridge and is shaped like a feather. Two both thicken toward their center, but have differing forms; one is wider and rectangular and has flat tiers where it meets its tang, while the other triangular with one spherical tier. Two more are shaped like modern darts. The last has an ovoid head. All are covered in a lovely russet hue reminiscent of ancient times. Size of Largest: 4.9375" L x 1.125" W x 0.375" H (12.5 cm x 2.9 cm x 1 cm)
