A Set of Two Chinese Archaistic Jade Axe Pendants, 55CD
This lot comprises two ceremonial jade axe ornaments. The left piece is carved from dark jade with mottled russet inclusions, featuring two perforations and notched flanges along the upper section. The right example is of yellowish-green jade with natural veining, decorated with an animal-mask motif on the haft and subtle linear mouldings on the blade. Jade axes symbolise authority, power and ward off misfortune in traditional Chinese jade culture. Both exhibit aged patina and weathered texture with an antique mellow polish. Dimensions: 2 pieces, 10 cm x 9.3 cm.
Condition
All loose diamonds and gemstones are offered on consignment from a local jewellery trade source and sold "as is, where is". Carat weight, color description, cut style and treatment notes listed in lot titles are provided for reference only. Grading assessments are visual observations made by the auctioneer, and do not replace a formal gemological laboratory report. Bidders are solely responsible for verifying authenticity, color, clarity, treatment status and actual value prior to bidding. The absence of a reference to a characteristic or flaw does not imply the stone is free from inclusions, surface marks or natural growth features. No warranty, express or implied, is provided regarding grade, treatment or value.
