A Siegburg stoneware pewter-mounted tankard (Schnelle) with the Royal arms of England, dated 1575
Moulded with three rectangular armorial panels, the centre one with the date 1575 surrounding the imperial double-headed eagle above the chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece, the sides with the royal arms of England above the inscription 'ENGELANT' and the initials HH, for the workshop of Hans Hilgers, mounted with a pewter cover inscribed '~ H.P. ~ O.M.P.', 29cm high (haircrack to top of handle)
