A Silver-Gilt and Cloisonné Enamel Two-Handled Vase
A Fabergé Cloisonné Enameled Gilt Silver Two-Handled Vase Fabergé, Feodor Rückert, Moscow, 1899-1908 7-7/8 x 4-3/4 x 3-5/8 inches (20.0 x 12.1 x 9.2 cm) 523 grams (16.8151 troy ounces) This extraordinary gilt silver and enamel vase was made by the artist-enameller Feodor Rückert, who was a main supplier of inventive Russian style cloisonné enamel for Fabergé's Moscow store. This unusual work exhibits signature Rückert flourishes on the neck in the "old Russian" style for which he was justly famous, but the body of the vase owes more to the Art Nouveau with its motion-filled profusion of passion flowers and leaves.
