With colichemarde blade (some pitting) of sharply tapering hollow triangular section etched over each side of the forte with a heart pierced with arrows centred on symmetrical designs of strapwork and scrolls, hilt cast, pierced and chased in low relief with naval and martial trophies involving putti and tridents, and comprising upturned asymmetrical double shell-guard, quillon-block and globular pommel, knuckle-guard en suite, lobed rear quillon with foliate rocaille on each side, prominent tang button, and grip bound with silver ribbon and two thicknesses of silver wire
