Vaishravana, God of Wealth and Guardian of the North, is known to have been considered a protector of the Gelugpa sect since the 14th century.

Condition Report:

Indentation, and metal corrosion, scratches to the surface, verdigris to areas with most wear to gilding like the head and tail of the lion and the hair of the figure. Casting flaw to the edge of the lotus base to the front side. An area of possible restoration of 'T' shaped to the left side of the buttock of the figure. A section of the shaw that possibly was attached to the back of the head of the figure has been broken off from the back of the shoulders.
