A Spanish cup-hilted rapier, circa 1700Shortened thrusting blade of diamond section with flattened medial ridge. Fullered on both sides above the ricasso, engraved on the terce side with "Nunquam Timeo" and on the quarte side with "Nunquam Retro". Replaced asymmetrical, curved cup hilt with circular openwork decoration. Extended crossguard with knuckle bow, finger guards riveted to the cup on both sides. Original grip, winding missing. Round pommel with offset riveted button. Length 100 cm.Condition: II -
