A Swiss mahogany and simulated rosewood musical box, Nicole Freres, circa 1890, playing a choice of eight airs via a pinned brass cylinder and tuned steel combs, the movement driven by a single wound spring drum mounted on a gilt iron bed beneath a hinged glass internal cover, with selection levers to the sides, the comb stamped by the maker, the lid with applied printed and hand written tune sheet also printed for the maker and serial numbered 3322, the case of typical rectangular form with marquetry inlaid lid, 14cm high, 45cm wide, 21cm deep Provenance: The estate of Christopher and Rosemary WarrenCondition Report: The case with marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, it has been repolished,The teeth all appear to be intact, the action works at time of report, Dreweatts cannot guarantee the action and full functionality - we recommend getting it inspected by a professional clock restorer. the winding handle slips when winding - the teeth not always engaging the crankthe internal glass is not opening at time of report, there are old splits and cracks to the wooden corners, it probably should have a leather thong to aid opening - this is lackingThere is no case key present The tune sheet and the movement both numbered 47091 Please refer to additional images for visual reference to conditionCondition Report Disclaimer
