circular, the lid later inset with a miniature depicting elegant figures by a lake, painted on vellum, the box tortoiseshell-lined, apparently unmarked; together with a circular miniature of shepherdesses gathered under a tree listening to a bag piper, in the manner of Henri Joseph van Blarenberghe, late 18th century, in a later gilt-metal and white enamel frame
