A Tamil Nadu gold pendant (thali) from a marriage necklace of modified hand form (astham) with four fingers displaying Shiva and Parvati seated on the bull Nandi, surrounded by flowers and scrolls in repoussé, openwork and engraving. Weight 95 g (including the shellac filling). Southern India. Late 19th/early 20th century.
