A Tang Style Sancai Glazed Tripod Footed Pottery Jar
the globular body is supported on three animal-claw feet and has a waisted neck with flared rim. The sides are covered with streaked glazes of blue, amber and cream color that fall towards the lower body revealing the buff ware.
Diameter 6 1/2 x height 5 1/2 in., 16.5 x 14 cm.
Property from the Carmen S. Holeman Trust, Indianapolis, Indiana Asian Art In good condition with three drilled holes at feet and bottom, for TL test. Together with an Oxford Authentication TL Testing Report: The clay is too insensitive for TL measurements and cannot be accurately dated.
