A LIGHT TEAL-GROUND SILK EMBROIDERED LADY'S ROBE
19th century
Finely embroidered with eight roundels to the front, back and shoulders, each enclosing butterflies in Peking stitch surrounded by satin-stitch flowers, scattered with further floral sprays in polychrome threads, all above a band of crashing waves, ruyi clouds, auspicious emblems and rockwork at the hem, bordered by floral bands on sleeves and around the collar. 137.7cm (54 1/4in) high x 131.2cm (51 5/8in) long.
