A Three-Piece George IV Silver Tea-Service by Joseph Angell, London, 1821

each piece compressed cylindrical and on spreading foot, the lower bodies part-fluted, with gadrooned borders, comprising a teapot, with slightly later ivory-insulated handle; a cream-jug and a sugar-bowl the teapot 28cm wide over handles, total gross weight 36oz 5dwt, 1,127gr (3) With non-transferable standard ivory exemption declaration number 76R4CFZH.

The teapot fully marked on side with London hallmarks for 1821-22. Further part marked inside cover and with a differing maker’s mark on handle. The cream-jug and sugar-bowl similarly marked. There is wear to the marks with some only just visible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is a repair to the bottom handle junction on the teapot and another to the body behind the handle. There are some bruises. There are some cracks and staining to the ivory but no indication that the ivory has been added or restored in any way. We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale. We cannot guarantee a reply to any requests made within 48 hours of the start of the auction. The absence of a Condition Report from a lot does not mean that the lot is in perfect condition.
