A Thuringian faience tankard with a double-headed eagle
With a large imperial eagle in manganese below the inscription "17 VIVAT CAROLUS DER VII 36". Blue W mark with a dash. With a restored crack, the handle reattached. With later pewter mountings. H with thumbrest 26.8 cm.
Erfurt, decor by Johann Jacob Wunderlich, 1736.
Prince Elector Charles I of Bavaria (1697 - 1745) was crowned Emperor on 24th January 1742 and ascended the throne of the Holy Roman Emperor as Charles VII.
