A Tibetan gilt bronze figure of Akshobhya, he is seated in dhyanasana on a beaded double lotus throne, right hand in bhumisparsha mudra, the left resting on his lap, in front of him lies a vajra, he is dressed in a robe engraved with flowers, attached to base and figure a flower mandorla. Sealed bottom. 16th-17th century. Weight 755 g. H. 16.5 cm.

Provenance: Director General of the Chinese Postal Service Erik Tollefsen (later named To Lo-sen) 1872–1938. He came to China in 1896 where he was in Customs but later became engaged in the Post Office Services and remained in China until 1932.
