Having a socket Bayonet .58 Cal. ++ Marked with Confederate inspector mark J.S. over an anchor on underside of stock behind trigger guard ++ Matching numbers "942 A" on butt plate and ramrod, possibly Blockade numbers ++ Lock plate marked with English Crown proof mark and "Tower 1862" ++ Stock has cartouche embossed in wood "C.W. James, Maker, Birmingham" ++ Barrel has Birmingham proof marks ++ Bayonet unmarked ++ Missing sling ring on trigger guard.
