A Transition Style Copper – Lacquered Bench (Banquette), Après Georges Jacob, This elegant, six – legged bench (banquette) is a beautiful revival piece in the Transition style, referencing the formal elegance of Georges Jacob's early Neoclassical work. The solid beechwood frame is finished with an eye – catching copper leaf lacquer. The construction is highly architectural: the frame is carved with delicate bead – and – reel moulding, and it stands on six straight, tapered legs. The legs are richly detailed with classical elements, including rosettes at the top, deeply carved fluting down the shaft, and often feature cascading acanthus or husk carvings. The seat is traditionally crafted using leaf fibre trimming on helical springs and is upholstered in a luxurious Lampas fabric, creating a striking juxtaposition of classical form and rich texture.Height: 19 inch.
