With slightly recurved single-edged blade fullered along the back on each side, the broader fuller on one side gold-damascened with an inscription terminating in scrolling foliage at the tip, the forte on one side silver-damascened with a star in a circle, and with calligraphy in a lozenge-shaped panel on the other, shaped copper filigree mount over the forte set with a piece of faceted red glass on each side, grip-strap en suite and set with slender fluted ovoidal red corals (corallium rubrum), and large 'eared' walrus-ivory grip-scales (one with minor chip), in original wooden scabbard covered in blue velvet with white-metal locket and chape (terminal missing) embossed with deigns of foliage
