A Vernis Martin Style Gilt Bronze Mounted Meuble D'Appui

late 19th/early 20th century
having a Sienna marble top above the bombe form case fitted with a door decorated with a classical figural scene, the side decorated with trophies, raised on splayed legs ending in sabots.
Height 46 x width 40 1/2 x depth 19 1/2 inches.

In good, stable, usable condition. Marble top intact without cracks or repair. Painted decoration intact throughout but with some crazing, Exterior with some light to moderate surface wear (nicks & scratches) consistent with age and use. Mounts all present with fairly even dirty patina. Door opens and closes smoothly, with lock, no key. One shelf to interior.
