A Victorian Britannia standard silver two handled porringer in Queen Anne style.
A Victorian Britannia standard silver two handled porringer in Queen Anne style. With two double-scroll handles, a flared rim, an embossed band and part 'hit and miss' spiral fluting, mark possibly that of Arthur Sibley (though he died in 1877 and the business was wound up in 1879, it would appear that the similarities in the mark registered and the makers mark on this cup is so similar as to allow a tentative attribution, see also Asher Solovitch 1899-1905(?)), London 1892, 9.5cm high overall (3 3/4 inches), 252g (a little over 8 ozs)
