A Victorian Silver Cream-Jug by Martin Hall and Co. Ltd., Sheffield, 1859
baluster and on spreading foot, the sides chased with panels of foliage and flowers on a matted ground, each side with a vacant cartouche, with leaf-capped scroll handle 19cm high, 9oz, 279gr
Fully marked under spout with silver marks. There is some wear to the marks but in general each is clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is a bruise to the foot which causes the jug to rock slightly when placed on a flat surface. There is some unevenness to the cartouches which have perhaps been erased.
