A Victorian Silver Gallery Tray by Charles Stuart Harris, London, 1900

oval and with pierced foliage sides below a beaded border and with integral handles, engraved with a crest and inscription, in fitted wood box 57cm wide, 80oz 3dwt, 2,493gr The inscription reads 'Presented to Eustace E. Palmer Esq J.P. with the best wishes of all his Directors on the Board of Huntley & Palmers Ltd. and in appreciation of his services to the Company during the Great War and 1914-1919'.

Fully marked on rim and further part marked underneath. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the engraving. There is some damage to the piercing, this is mostly around the handles. There is a section of piercing lacking. The box is worn and scuffed and with some shrinkage cracks and staining.
