A Victorian Silver and Mother-of Pearl Trowel, by George Unite, Birmingham, 1877, the blade tapering and engraved 'Presented to Mrs Quayle on the Occasion of Her Laying the Foundation Stone of Crogg House Being Build for His Honor Mark Hildesley Quayle of Crogga, Esquire by the Contractors Mess'rs James Cooper and William Costain March 1878', with carved mother-of-pearl handle, 26.5cm long; Together With an Eward VIII Scottish silver dish, by Hamilton and Inches, Edinburgh, 1936, circular and applied with a regimental badge and engraved with presentation initials, 10cm diameter (2)

The trowel is marked on either side of the blade. The marks are generally clear. There is some surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is a chip to the mother-of-pearl at the top of the handle. The mother of pearl with some minor discolouration. The dish fully marked underneath. The marks are clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale. We cannot guarantee a reply to any requests made within 48 hours of the start of the auction. The absence of a Condition Report from a lot does not mean that the lot is in perfect condition.
