A Victorian diamond set star brooch, c.1890,
the twelve point star with an old European cut diamond grain set to a star shaped collet at the centre, with smaller graduated old European cut and rose cut diamonds grain set to the points. All set in silver and backed in gold, with a concealed suspension hoop and detachable brooch fitting, with later roller catch. Tested as approximately sterling silver and 9ct gold.
