A Victorian oak Gothic Revival linen press, circa 1840, the panel doors with arcading and trefoils enclosing an arrangement of three shelves, above an arrangement of two short and two long drawers and a plinth base, 206cm high, 112cm wide, 48cm deepCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use,The shelves to the interior are almost certainly a later replacement, it was probably originally designed to have linen slides, the brackets supporting the shelves are certainly later,Overall with a dark appearance, The turned handles are probably original, the interiors of the drawers with old paper lining, this is probably original and carries the marks and stains one would expect,There is a key operating the cupboard door lock, there is no key for the drawers - these are all open and unlocked at time of report, the locks to the drawers appears to be original throughout.This is in two parts (upper cupboard section and lower drawer base) there are three screws provided with this cupboard but Dreweatts have no tested them nor give any guarantees if they will secure firmly - the Purchaser may need to source their own.
