A Victorian silver travelling communion set.

A Victorian silver travelling communion set, comprising a chalice, paten and lidded flagon, each engraved with a sun surrounding the initials 'IHS', the chalice with a pierced and knopped stem, to a hexagonal base, the paten with conforming hexagonal base to foot, and the flagon of bellied form, with a stepped circular base, and cross finial to cork stopper, in a fitted case. Hallmarked Henry Wilkinson & Co, Sheffield 1857. Height of flagon 4.25" (10.75cm), total silver weight without flagon cork 5 ozt (155.2 grams).

Condition Report:
- Silver items displaying general surface wear, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
- Greater dint to plate of paten, and belly of flagon.
- Flagon cork worn and discoloured.
- Some areas of greater tarnishing that would benefit from a clean and polish.
- Fitted case in poor condition, with broken hinge, surface marks and wear, staining and marks to interior material, and a lid that does not sit flush.
- Hallmarks and maker's marks worn in places but legible.
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
