A Viking necklace with gold pendant, 9th – 10th
A silver chain, length 75 cm. At both ends enclosed by a 4.3 cm long cylinder. On each end a relatively coarse wire loop to which the trapezoidal, gold-plated silver pendant is attached. The frame of the openworked pendant is decorated with punched circular eyes. In the almost triangular picture field in borre/jelling style a griffin animal holding a lion(?) captive. Intact. Length of the pendant 4.2 cm. Weight 83,2 g.
