India Pattern "Brown Bess" made by "WOOLLEY SARGANT & FAIRFAX" circa 1826. Round smoothbore barrel with blade front sight that doubles as a lug for socket bayonet. Barrel has Birmingham proofs and "WS" marks. Lock is original flint marked with "Woolley Sargant & Fairfax" and controlled by a single trigger. Walnut full military stock with brass furniture including "India" style sideplate and ramrod pipes. Comes with steel ramrod. CONDITION: Metal parts have turned a dark brown patina with some light surface pitting. Wood has dark surface with possible addition of finish long ago. Various usage marks and dings.
