A WURFFLEIN ANIMATED SHOOTING GALLERY TARGET CIRCA 1910
The cast bullseye with pop-up character and numbered concentric rings with central button made by William Wurfflein, Philadelphia. A successful shot would ring a bell and release the pop-up painted sheet metal character in silhouette. The peculiar character is intact with original spring and clockwork mechanism and the original painted detail. The iron concentric ring target is in old park paint and signed in the casting back side.
Pictured on page 51 of Sellers' book (figure 3.20).
Displayed on custom iron stand. This is the only example the Tuckers have seen or heard of in their 30 years of collecting.
Measures 17 x 11 inches, excluding stand.
We happily provide seamless in-house packing and shipping services on nearly everything we sell.
Condition Report: Very good largely original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, the action mechanism appears to be intact, very good paint as described and shown.
