A Warm Golden Yellow Jade ‘Openwork Intertwined Dragon’ Plaque Carving, 30BD

This elaborate openwork plaque is finely carved from warm golden?yellow jade suffused with russet patina, featuring a symmetrical design of coiled, intertwined dragons with sweeping curvilinear forms, deep pierced cutouts and delicate incised scroll detailing across the entire surface. The intertwined dragon motif symbolises power, auspicious union and enduring good fortune within traditional Chinese iconography. The jade displays a rich golden?yellow base colour overlaid with scattered russet staining and fine natural veining throughout the material. The work combines precision openwork piercing with subtle relief carving, finished with a smooth, mellow polish that highlights the flowing decorative contours. Dimensions: 9.5 cm x 6 cm
