10 1/8-inch dial with winged cherub and leaf scroll spandrels linked by tulip engraving, signed Dan: Quare, London, matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial, engraved date aperture and ringed winding holes, the upper corners with subsidiary strike/silent and regulation dials, the movement with T-shaped backplate mounted with rise and fall regulation, anchor escapement, rack striking on a bell and with Quare’s pull quarter repeating on four bells, the case with flat top moulded cornice above brass-capped hood pilasters to the rising hood, spoon locking, the rectangular trunk door with a glazed lenticle, the trunk and plinth veneered with boldly-drawn urn, flower and leaf scroll marquetry, on bun feet
