A William and Mary Walnut and Seaweed Marquetry Longcase Clock, Joseph Windmills, London, Circa 1700
the 12 inch dial with double cherub and crown spandrels linked by foliate engraving, signed J Windmills, London, matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial, ringed winding holes and dates aperture, the movement with six latched, knopped and ringed pillars, anchor escapement, internal locking plate striking on a bell, the case with later cresting and finials above a foliate frieze fret and plain hood pilasters, rectangular trunk door with glazed lenticle, the plinth with later base, the front inlaid with finely drawn arabesque marquetry within double wheat-ear borders, the sides crossbanded and divided into panels

Condition Report:
With general typical marks, nicks, surface scratches, and age cracks throughout. These are most pronounced on the base. Some patches, infill, and replacements to veneers and inlay. As stated, caddy top and finials replaced and with a few replaced sections to cornice below. A few minor losses to fretwork. Door hinges replaced. One key and one winding key.
