A William & Mary walnut folding writing table, circa 1690, the hinged rectangular quarter veneered top opening to a tooled leather inset writing surface, above two frieze drawers and the gateleg action, on turned sectional legs and stretchers, terminating in turned bun feet, 75cm high, 84cm wide, 33cm deepCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old splits, chips and small losses. some old repairs and replacements. some old worm damage (as expected) see images. some fading overall.The handles appear possibly original. There are no alternate holes. The feet are original, one rear foot has some very old fragmentary loss. The interior surface of the top has a later associated gilt tooled leather inset.
