[ translate ]

A William & Mary walnut torchere, circa 1690, the circular top with moulded edge, above the spirally turned stem, on a moulded circular base and turned bun feet, 104cm high, the top 26cm diameterCondition Report: Marks, scratches and abrasions comensurate with age and use.old chips and splits. some small losses. some minor old evidence of re-gluing. some old worm damage. There are old holes throughout, more noticeably to the lower part of the stem and the base. The spherical feet are probably later associated but in keeping with the period style expected. All other elements are original. Good colour, surface and patina. The base section appears to have been detached/ broken from the stem and been in two parts previously and re-glued. This looks to have been done a very long time ago. The two parts are very slightly offset from eachother. All joints are glued and do not detach. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition. Condition Report Disclaimer
