A William de Morgan 'Iznik' part tile panel, circa 1888-1898, Sand's End Pottery, composed of four tiles, in Islamic style with a repeating pattern of flowers and foliage, glazed in blue, turquoise, green and deep purple, impressed Sand's End Pottery marks, 23cm square, framed (4)Provenance: From the Mohamed Makiya CollectionCompare with a similar vertical tile panel illustrated Jon Catleugh, William de Morgan Tiles, p. 03, pl. 141Condition Report: the mark is only visible on one tile as the other three are glued to a wood backing and enclosed within a metal framethe loose tile with 5cm x 1.5cm area of glaze loss upper left side and area of glaze loss to bottom left edge and corner 1.5cm x 4mm and 7mm x 7mm one tile has been in two pieces with top left of tile area approximately 14cm x 5cm and this piece also has glaze loss to edge approximately 3.5cm x 1.2cm area and also small loss of glaze along line of crack one tile with loss of glaze top left corner approximately 1.7cm x 1cm and this tile with brown stained area of crazing the other tile has been in half with vertical crack towards left side all tiles with corner knocks and some edge glazing missing Condition Report Disclaimer
