A YATAGAN

Strong, slightly curved blade with a thin groove next to the back, silver inlaid at forte, six-pointed star on one side, cartouche with inscriptions in Arabic on the other side. Copper ring nut with filigree decorations and remains of gilding, on foils that cover the blade, a glass paste cabochon on each side at the base. Copper central band of the grip, decorated with filigree and with seven coral inserts. Walrus ivory grip scales with big ears.
