Condition Report:
Young Woman advancing to the right, in profile, with her left hand out:
Laid down to an old decorative mount, most probably that of the French 18th
century mount maker, Glomy. There is an added strip of paper along the left
edge of the sheet, circa 1 inch wide, that differs in tone to the rest of the sheet.
There is an old horizontal hanging line to the centre of the sheet and some
minor abrasions to the extremities. There is some slight toning to the sheet but
the chalk remains in predominantly good condition, with the overall image
strong. Sold in a high quality carved giltwood frame.
Young Woman seen from behind:
Laid down to an old decorative mount, most probably that of the French 18th
century mount maker, Glomy, though not stamped with his mark. There are
some minor abrasions to the extremities and some small scattered areas of
surface dirt. There is some slight toning to the sheet but the chalk remains in
predominantly good condition, with the overall image strong. Sold in a high
quality carved giltwood frame.
