A Ziegler Mahal carpet

A Ziegler Mahal carpet, the dark blue field decorated with an overall design of meandering vines interspersed throughout with flowerheads, within a madder border decorated overall by polychrome floral foliage, and similarly decorated blue guard stripes, approximately 442 x 320cm

Condition Report:
Extensive wear and loss to pile overall revealing underlying stands in areas. Longest edges have been re-bound and have some undulation. Fringing trimmed down and with losses and wear which encroaches in to the guard stripe at each end. Various small old patch repairs.
