A basket hilted broadsword
dating: Late 17th - Early 18th Century provenance: Scotland, Interesting, wide, straight, double-edged blade of lenticular section, the first part with fuller in the center, with remains of inscription "ANDREA FERARA" on one side and "FERARA" on the other, gilding at the base, Passau Wolf type engraving. Iron basket-hilt with pommel shaped as spinning top. Wooden grip, covered with fish skin and metallic wire binding. Scarce. length 106.5 cm.
