A beautiful Egyptian carved wood figure of a Ba-Bird

A beautiful Egyptian carved wood figure of a Ba-Bird, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, standing on a rectangular base, the human head with handsome features and wearing a striated headdress and triple-row broad collar. The body is well-formed with detailed feathers and long legs with human feet. 9 3/8 in x 8 3/4 in (23.8 x 22.3 cm). Extremely well-preserved with dark brown glossy patina. Just a superb display piece with much eye appeal! Ex Oxfordshire, UK private collection acquired on the London Art Market in the early 1980's; previously in the collection of Alfred Jenkins acquired in the 1910's.
