A beautiful early Jumeau portrait bisque head Bebe doll, size 1, French circa 1880, the pale bisque head with fixed brown glass paperweight eyes, shaded lids, painted lashes and feathered brows, closed mouth with defined space between delicately shaded closed mouth, pierced shaded ears and brown wig, with cork pate, on a good early fully jointed eight ball joint wood and composition body with fixed wrists and ‘Jumeau, Medaille d’Or’ blue stamp to rear, wearing a later black dress with mauve trim, buttoned centre panel and pleated hem, bonnet, underclothes, socks and brown leather stamped shoes with bee, 7, incised 1 to back of head, 17 ¼” (44cm) tall, (condition: good, professional repaint to body).
