A black slate mantel clock, late 19th century, with French eight-day bell striking movement, the gilt engine turned dial inscribed for the retailer Chas. Frodsham, Clockmaker to the Queen, to the Roman numeral chapter ring, the case of rectangular section and on multi-plinth base 23.5cm high

Provenance: Shefford Woodlands House, Berkshire

The proceeds of sale from this collection will be donated to a number of local charities.

Condition Report:
The case with marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, also chips and losses to the corners, edges, and extremities, With the pendulum, this is serial numbered 18111 and this matches the movement. The suspension is broken and Dreweatts cannot test the movement as working and can give no comments as to accuracy of time keeping, the movement has its bell and there is a winding key and small pocket watch type key to adjust the hands, The bezel closing firmly when shut, Some dirt and discolouration to the gilt dial Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition
