France, 2nd half of the 18th century

Horn, green painted with white striped pattern, silver mount. Damaged.

The miniature could not be deframed for reasons of conservation.Condition: minor chips to horn, restorations. Adhesive remnants of a label on the bottom of the box. Silver mount oxidized, partly loosened. Shrinkage cracks and missing spots of paint. Damage to lacquer coating at the lower margin. The inside of the lid glued with decorative paper.

Frankreich, 2. Hälfte 18. Jh.

Horn, grün gelackt mit weißem Streifenmuster, Silbermontierung. Rund. Im Deckel eingelassen Miniatur "Galantes Paar". Besch. D. 7,5 cm. Miniatur im Queroval BA 3,1 x 3,8 cm cm.

Die Miniatur konnte aus konservatorischen Gründen nicht ausgerahmt werden. Zustand: Kleine Ausbrüche im Horn, Restaurierungen. Auf dem Boden der Dose Kleberreste eines Etiketts. Silbermontierung oxidiert, tlw. angelockert. Schwundrisse und Fehlstellen im Lack. Lackbeschichtung am unteren Rand besch. Deckelinnenseite mit Schmuckpapier beklebt.
