the oval dial with two chapter rings with Arabic and Roman numerals for latitudes 51 degrees 32 minutes and 60 degrees, central section with engraved scrolling foliate decoration, compass rose with eight cardinal points, gnomon with bird pointer indicating latitudes over the range 45 -65 degrees, in oval fishskin covered case with green velvet lining,
the dial with erect gnomon 1 1/3in x 2 2/3in x 2 1/4in (3 1/2cm x 6 4/5cm x 5 3/4cm), case 3/4in x 3in x 2 1/2in (1 4/5cm x 8cm x 6 1/2cm)
