A brass fire fender in Louis XVI style
A brass fire fender in Louis XVI style, each end cast with a festooned urn, flanking the adjustable pierced centre, approximately 180cm wide, 52cm high, 44cm deep
Condition Report:
The fender is in three parts, with the central frieze having been separated. This may be due to an adjustable design, though the interior of the fender lacks any supporting framework for this and the edges where the central frieze has been removed are re-gilt and a little irregular. Possibly the fender was later adapted.
Parts re-gilt, the metal a little pitted and scuffed, and there is some radial movement to the swags. One has partially come away from the urn, though that could presumably be addressed. Condition Report Disclaimer
