A bronze Near Eastern spear butt, c. 1000 - 600 BC, with square profile and tapering to a rounded end, the base with incised angled lines, the mounting shaft round with grooved base and two holes for attachment. L: 12 in (30.7cm). A pleasing example with attractive patination. This piece would have been mounted on the opposite end of a spear or similar pole-arm for support and/or and additional weapon. Ex Rhode Island private estate.
