A Japanese bronze Bonsho (Temple bell) , dated Meiji Year 38 (1905) April. A Japanese bronze Temple bell, decorated with ”Nyu" (spikes) and poetry in the Ikeno-ma (the middle part of the bell) . The handle on the top is two-headed dragon. A typical Japanese style temple bell. Compared to other Asian temple bells, the Japanese ones are designed much simpler. This piece is additionally decorated with poetry in the middle. In one section, it's written the date (Meiji 38 April) , the name of the first prime minister of Japan "Ito Hirobumi (b. 1841) ," the name of the carpenter and the owner. The item gives the sound that is meant to give people the feeling of calmness, relax and focus as they do in temples. Comes with some small imperfections Height 25. 5cm Diameter 17cm Weight 3,6 kilo
