This bust could, for example, have been modelled on the marble bust of a Roman Empress from the Flavian era in the Glyptothek in Munich. This hairstyle was also taken up by Barthélemy Prieur (1540 - 1611) for his bronze statue of Maria de' Medici as Juno (Louvre, Inv. OA 11055).
